Yellow Ribbons and Confetti for Corazon Aquino Was All Over the Net

Topblogs statistics show that in the past 4 days, the phrase 'Corazon Aquino' peaked on August 1 and August 4 as of this writing. She died at 3am last August 1, and bloggers and web content writers all over the world, must have wrote tons o articles as a tribute for her.

If not for technology and the millions of Filipinos who care about our nation, I would not have seen what has been going on the past days until Cory Aquino's burial today. I totally depended on the internet for live streaming froam various stations, and I am very thankful to all the Filipinos who never get tired of uploading feeds and clips online for their fellow Kabayans like me who are living far from the Philippines.

Facebook indeed is one that connected me a lot, not only to my friends old and new, but to my home and countrymen. Indeed, what happened today and in the past is one proof that Filipinos can become one in adversity and celebration.

I do hope the legacy of FREEDOM lives forever.

Hoping for the best in the upcoming political changes in the year 2010.

To my friends, fellow bloggers, and all the websites that tied the yellow ribbon as one with all the Filipino people all over the world, "MABUHAY po kayo kabayan" (long live, Filipino)!

To all the BIG NAMES in their respective industries and those who dwell in the internet world who perfectly understand that there are millions of Filipinos all over the world who would always want to get connected to the Philippines, "maraming salamat sa walang sawang pakikipag-ugnayan at pag-aalala sa amin" (thank you for your steadfast efforts in connecting and thinking about us). MABUHAY! (long live!)

Let's not lose hope...and keep living vigilant for the preservation of our freedom.

Michael Jackson dead at 50

I woke up so late in the morning to finish my thesis proposal...and the first thing I usually do (aside from taking a pee) is to open my net ang log in to facebook.

Netscape is the browser that I'd use this morning and the Headline caught my attention. Michael Jackson just passed away on Thursday, June 25 at 2:26 pm in UCLA hospital due to cardiac arrest.

I'm one of the big fans of this sensational popstar, as I grew up in the 80s, when he was soooo BIG a star then. Madonna and Michael Jackson are among the icons I ican vividly remember shown on music videos in the 80s (back then, there was no MTV or Channel V...and these music videos were just fillers in the local TV channels).

Nostalgia. A twinge of sorrow.

Micheal Jackson was a legend. An icon.

Indeed, nothing is permanent in this world. Even fame, power, and in MJs case, skin color.

Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, will be remembered fondly by the 80s babies like me.
